Hearing the word Halwa can fill your heart with nostalgia and instantly take you down memory lane as you remember the mouth-watering Gajar Ka Halwa that your mom used to cook. This ultimate desi dessert has many variants, one of which is the Nariyal Ka Halwa. Serve it during any festival and watch the family sing praises of your cooking!

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2 cup Semolina (Sooji)
  2. 1/3 cup Ghee
  3. 1¼ cup Water
  4. 1/2 cup Sugar
  5. 5 Almonds, sliced
  6. 5 Cashew nuts, chopped
  7. 1/4 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  8. ¼ cup Desiccated Coconut
METHOD
Pour 1¼ cup water in a small saucepan and bring it to boil over medium flame, for 3-4 minutes.
Take Semolina & Desiccated coconut in a heavy-based pan, add ghee and heat it over medium flame. Roast it until it turns golden-brown. It will take anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes.
Reduce flame to low; slowly add boiled water and mix by stirring constantly. Add water slowly and stir intermediately to avoid any lump formation.
Increase the flame to medium and cook until all the water gets absorbed. Add sugar and cardamom powder.
Stir it until sugar dissolves completely and it has a semi-solid consistency.
Garnish it with Almonds, Cashew nuts & Desiccated Coconut.
